Founded in 2016 by creative duo perfumer Pia Long and scent designer Nick Gilbert, Olfiction was born from the combined knowledge and passion of the pair’s combined 60 years working inside the fragrance industry. They are known for creating perfumes for multitude of brands, evaluating for others, writing, teaching, and training people how to understand fragrance.
Olfiction believe that scents and stories are structurally inseparable, and everything they do is centred around that belief. They infuse their perfumes and books with every bit of their knowledge, born from an endless curiosity and desire to create something truly original. They revel in playful creativity and a dedication to learning, experience and skill over shortcuts or smoke and mirrors.
Pia Long
Pia started her career selling fragrance as a teenager in the 1980s, and began training as a perfumer in 2006. Since then, she has created hundreds of formulas for all kinds of scented products. She views perfumery as an invisible language.
Nick Gilbert
Nick’s career began selling fragrance at the turn of the Millenium. He quickly fell in love with niche fragrance, forged his path into product and fragrance development, and is responsible for designing the concepts and narratives of best-selling fragrances.
