scenTunes stands for handcrafted perfume, conceived, created, designed, and produced by Diana Grüning in Germany.
The concept is inspired by autobiographical moments and emotions associated with specific songs. scenTunes follows the principles of Romanticism—small but meaningful and emotionally charged moments from the perfumer’s life are translated into a fragrance to convey the emotions associated with them. Despite individual – and thus subjective – olfactory memories, people communicate through shared experiences and possess a universal understanding of them.
scenTunes translates this into scent. In this way, emotional, olfactory, and acoustic experiences come together in a wonderful way.
Diana Grüning
Diana Grüning’s sense of smell, as well as her love of fragrance and music, have always played a significant role in her life. But it wasn’t until she was struck by a sudden, serious illness in 2022 – and the resulting confrontation with her own mortality – that she found the courage to leave her “safe professional haven” as a psychologist and psychotherapist and pursue her passion: the art of perfumery.
She is self-taught and draws on knowledge from her laboratory training as a medical-technical assistant, as well as insights into perception, sensory processing, and emotional processing gained from her psychology studies and her professional work.
