Inspiration behind the fragrance
Senneh is the name of an asymmetric knot characteristic of Persian carpets from Iranian Kurdistan. The name also refers to the historic name of Sanandaj, a Kurdish city that reflects the countless cultural facets of a country with a history spanning thousands of years.
“Human beings are limbs of one body. When one part suffers, the others cannot remain at peace.”
– Saadi
In the present day, the name Iran is often surrounded by darker themes. Yet the land that appears daily in the news is also one of the oldest cradles of human civilisation: a place where poetry, philosophy, science, art and spirituality have been nurtured for thousands of years.
Ancient Persia is more than a country. It is a civilisation that spans centuries and continues to speak to the human imagination. Long before many modern states came into being, Persia had already developed magnificent cities, libraries and intellectual traditions, with astronomers, physicians, thinkers and philosophers. It is no coincidence that some of history’s most influential poets emerged from this culture.
When we view a country solely through the lens of current events, we risk losing sight of what its people truly represent: a history stretching back thousands of years, an extraordinarily rich language and a culture that has endured empires, religions and changing eras without losing its own character.
Persia is a land of gardens, of carpets woven like stories, of delicate miniatures, knowledge and poetry. A civilisation that has shown the world the beauty of language and the depth of contemplation.
