Inspiration behind the fragrance

For Ulysse, Julie Lerendu drew inspiration from Greek mythology and the adventures of the hero Odysseus. She imagined the scent of a traveller who has braved wind and waves: a wave of aromatic and spicy freshness with an almost animalic sensuality.

Star anise, ginger, cucumber, ylang-ylang and a hint of mandarin evoke the scent of spice chests, distant horizons and long sea voyages. The result is an olfactory odyssey that reflects the adventurous spirit of a hero at sea.

Biography of the perfume creator

Julie Lerendu trained at ISIPCA and regards Corpo 35 as much more than a competition: an encounter, a confirmation and an important step towards her vocation as a perfumer. As she herself says: “The competition has opened many doors for me and helped me in my professional goal of becoming a perfumer.”

During the competition, she won both third prize and the Prix Artistique, an award for her creative use of Robertet’s natural raw materials.

Corpo 35 subsequently opened the doors to Robertet directly. At the awards ceremony, Julie Lerendu met perfumer Michel Almairac, who offered her a place at Robertet’s perfume school. Under the guidance of perfumer Émilie Bouge, she joined Robertet’s creative team in Grasse in 2022, after which she continued her career at the house’s UK creative centre.

At Robertet UK, her work included Harrods Gold, an exclusive creation for the London department store Harrods. The fragrance pays homage to the building’s gilded architecture and highlights Robertet’s exceptional expertise in working with natural raw materials.
