Eau de Parfum
Composed by Annalia Débat

Fragrance description

Salty sea air, citrus fruits and a marine accord open the composition, followed by sandalwood, vetiver, maté and exotic spices. The olfactory journey of a sailor setting sail from the port of Nantes to Brazil, between Atlantic freshness and tropical warmth.

Ideal for

Lovers of marine scents, fresh citrus compositions and perfumes that tell a travel story of sea, wood and spices.

Fragrance families

Marine, Citrus, Woody

Fragrance notes

Mandarin, bergamot, geranium and sandalwood.

Inspiration behind the fragrance

With Bélem, Annalia Débat pays tribute to the famous French sailing ship. The fragrance follows the journey of a sailor who, in 1890, set sail from the port of Nantes to Brazil aboard the Bélem.

The olfactory story moves from the cool, salty harbours of the Atlantic coast to the warm, woody and spicy atmosphere of the tropics. Bergamot, Sicilian lemon and a marine accord gradually give way to sandalwood, vetiver, maté and exotic spices. A fragrant crossing between land and sea, France and Brazil.

Annalia Débat

Biography of the perfume creator

Annalia Débat obtained a scientific baccalaureate before continuing her studies at the École Supérieure du Parfum in Paris. There, she developed a strongly narrative approach to perfumery: for her, every perfume tells a story, and writing that story is inextricably linked to formulating the fragrance itself.

During the competition, she spent her evenings alone in her school’s laboratory, often accompanied by piano music by Ludovico Einaudi, Roberto Cacciapaglia and Roberto Jonata. It was in this tranquil setting that Bélem was created, her tribute to the famous French sailing ship.

After the competition, Annalia Débat continued her career within the perfume industry as an evaluator and senior researcher in the field of sensory evaluation, a discipline at the crossroads of science and perception that naturally extends her fascination with the history of scent.
