Inspiration behind the perfume

Caprifoglio Nero explores the interplay of light and shadow so characteristic of Impressionism. A sunny and radiant honeysuckle is contrasted with dark accents of vetiver and leather, creating a fascinating duality. Aldehydes bring a cool clarity, whilst jasmine and honey add warmth and depth.

Biography of the perfume creator

Mouna Chanaoui graduated from ISIPCA (Institut Supérieur International du Parfum, de la Cosmétique et de l’Aromatique Alimentaire) and holds a master’s degree in chemistry. From an early age, she developed an olfactory style centred on contrasts: light and darkness, warmth and freshness, sun-drenched clarity and mystery.

At the time of the Corpo 35 competition, she was working as an assistant perfumer at Atelier Fragranze Milano under the guidance of perfumer Luca Maffei, one of the most respected names in European niche perfumery.

For Caprifoglio Nero, she took a sunny honeysuckle as her starting point and added dark accents of vetiver and leather to create a fascinating tension. The centifolia rose remains present in the background, lending the composition volume and texture.

Her creative approach draws inspiration from pointillism: layer by layer, ingredient by ingredient, building a cohesive and unique olfactory tableau. As she describes it herself: “A single drop of this perfume promises a unique and sun-drenched scent trail, a thread of light that will only fade at the next dawn.”
